STUDY PROGRAM WOOD TECHNOLOGY

We are aware that wood as a natural material is becoming more popular and work with wood increasingly successful and profitable business.
For our students we provide individual free approach to creating new, modern products from wood and wood composites. Your innovation and creativity may be expressed through participation in projects, collaborations with companies, testing their product ideas and producing in our school workshops. You will learn about advanced technologies, gain insight into the world of business, develop new ideas for making successful, competitive products and improvements of technological processes. Study at our Vocational College encourages your creativity, professionalism and motivation, which further leads to successful employment.
THE STUDY ENABLES NEW KNOWLEDGE
It is a modernly designed and prospective studies, which allows students to gain new knowledge in the fields of:
- wood processing and treatment,
- saw-mills, production of boards and laminated wood,
- manufacture of furniture, carpentry and joinery,
- surface treatment, seasoning and kiln-drying of wood,
- wooden and pre-manufactured constructions and bulding,
- production management and quality control,
- CNC technology,
- entrepreneurship …
PROVISION OF STUDIES
Studies take 2 years (120 ECTS), after graduation you get the title of engineer of wood technology.
The academic year comprises 24 weeks of educational work (lectures, seminary tutorials and laboratory work) and 10 weeks of practical training in companies. Vocational College in addition to excellent spatial conditions and equipment also offers the possibility of creative work in our own well equipped school workshops.
PRACTICAL TRAINING/INTERNSHIP IN COMPANIES
The advantage of higher vocational education is that it includes practical training/internship in companies, allowing students to gain specific competences in the work-place and establish cooperation with potential employers during their studies, which widens the range of students´ job opportunities.
Internship in is arranged and obligatory for all students, for those students who want to gain experience abroad, we are able to organize the opportunity for placements in foreign (EU) companies through Erasmus+ programmes.
PROJECTS, EXCURSIONS, FAIRS
During the studies we pay special attention to the contemporary approaches in educational process, so the study program each year includes interesting projects, cooperation with the economy sector, excursions to companies in Slovenia and abroad, visiting trade fairs…
STROKOVNE EKSKURZIJE IN SEJMI
Za študente vsako leto pripravimo tudi ekskurzije v podjeta v Sloveniji in tujini, ter obiske sejmov (IMM Cologne, Nemčija, Salone del Mobile, Milano, Italija).
INTERNATIONAL CO-OPERATION, STUDENTS´ EXCHANGE
We successfully cooperate with universities and companies abroad, which gives us an advantage in achieving the vision of a modern study. Our students go abroad to Iceland, Croatia, Italy, France, Spain, Great Britain, Germany, Austria, Lithuania, the Czech Republic, North Macedonia …; from these countries students also come to our college.
